I have loved every moment of using my Macbook ever since I bought it in August - I found, learning a new OS isn’t tough at all, against all my earlier reservations!!! The only time I have felt the need for Windows on Parallels is when travelling, as I believed my Reliance Netconnect USB Modem, which needs a Huawei EC325 Driver is not available for the MAC OS! Couldn’t find the driver on the Huawei site either, so I just assumed it’s not compatible.
So I was all set to get Windows just for that, when I looked around once more on Google for any last-minute solution which would not require me to stuff up my Mac with Windows - and to my delight I discovered this comment that offered up the driver for the Mac. And it works just fine. Thank you Mugblog!
For those of you that don’t want to use your mobile to connect to the Internet, you can use the HUAWEI EC325 USB Card to connect your MacBook or MacBook Pro to the Internet.
It’s a shame that the Reliance website is so misleading, where it categorically states:
EC321 client software supports:
Windows 2000.Windows XP.Windows 2003.
Only 32 byte OS is supported; 64 byte OS is not supported. Unix, Linux, Mac, Windows NT, is not supported by EC321.
And I am so grateful for blogs and comments that lead you to such discoveries, when companies fail to solve your problems!

i have gone through all the posts at this forum i am a mac book pro user from last one year. Till now I was using internet through Nokia’s N70 using it’s bluetooth facility. Recently I purchased the ZTE MG 880 from reliance and was unable to configure it on my mac but using paralle’s desktop i am able to configure and use this USB modem on my mac book pro. Through which I am getting a very good download speed also. With the netbooster facility provided by reliance I am very happy with the surfing speed. It is very fast compared to all the earlier wireless modems. I have used PCMCI card ZTE on my Sony Vaio for a long period but I was not happy with the speed. But this ZTE MG 880 is giving me fantastic speed. Right now I am trying to create the small private network in win mode of parrallel which will help me to connect net in OS X mode also I will keep you all informed about my progress. Thank you….. Meanwhile if anybody gets the direct drivers for MG 880 please let me know also such that I also can save my procedure to get connected in OS X mode…….
I have a good news for the mac owners who have parallels. Using parallels i have configured my ZTE MG 880 to work in both the environments NOW I CAN USE INTERNET CONNECTION IN BOTH WINDOWS XP as well as MAC OS X. I am getting very good speed in both the operating environments……

Hi,
I recently bought a EC325 Huawei data card from Reliance and have installed the drivers as given above from the Hutch Thailand Site
I have a MAcbook 10.5.1
Initially the drivers got installed properly and i was able to see the huwaei mobile connect in my OS and at that time my connection was not activated
After activating my connection i connected it and tried but i couldnt connect
So i decided to remove the existing one and reinstall the drivers from the beginning but i am facing a problem here
I dont see the Huawei mobile connect configured when i connect my data card after installing the drivers given above successfully
Can you please let me know how to remove the drivers and reinstall them so that i can see the Huawei mobile connect when i reinstall the drivers
Please let me know if i am missing something here
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks and regards,
Sree ram
